Translation is written text and interpreting is spoken communication. Translators work with documents; Interpreters work with spoken words. Translators usually work remotely using specialised software or word processor, etc., whereas interpreters work on-site alongside you and your clients. Translating and interpreting are two very different skills and, although some people offer both services, it is important not to confuse the two when commissioning work.

This depends on the length and complexity of the text as well as the language and the availability of suitable translators. Once we receive your document we will be able to provide you with this information. We always do our best to ensure a speedy turn-around time for your document and if you need your translation urgently, we will do our best to accommodate you.

We are proud to be chosen by a very large number of clients across the Private and Public Sectors as their translation services provider… Our private sector clients range from small firms employing a few people to very large blue chip companies and global brands such as Toyota Motor Manufacturing Corporation. In the public sector, we work in partnership with many councils, health authorities, courts, police forces and the Home Office as a leading provider of written translations, face to face interpreting, telephone interpreting and sensory impairment services.

All our translators are highly qualified and experienced linguists selected from our extensive database of professionals to ensure that each individual project is undertaken by the most suitable linguist whose educational and professional background is the most appropriate to the project in hand. In-keeping with our tradition of offering a high quality professional service, we ensure that all translation work is conducted by native speakers of the target language. Furthermore, we never ask a linguist who is not familiar with the subject to undertake a translation even if they have perfect command of the languages involved.

If your material for translation is Typeset using a specialist DTP [Desk Top Publishing] application; in other words, it contains a special theme, layout or formatting (i.e. backgrounds, graphics, picture, tables, columns, or any other form of creative work) we can ensure to typeset your document so that you can use our translated text in the same application, with the same theme, layout or formatting. Typesetting is a specialised field that requires different skill sets. We employ graphic designers and typesetters who are not only experienced professionals in their field but are also experts in the language(s) they are working in so that they can make sure all grammatical nuances are catered for when finalising their work. We can save you time and money by undertaking your typesetting work as well as translation, thereby eliminating the need for another company or set of professionals to be involved in your projects.

A certified translation is a translation that has been formally verified for use in official purposes: papers that have to be submitted to an Immigration or Naturalisation department (such as birth, marriage and divorce certificates), official transcripts (such as high school certificates, university degrees and vocational training certificates), patents, etc. We will translate the documents, stamp them with our company stamp and return them with a certificate which confirms that they have been translated by a qualified professional translator and that we believe them to be accurate and true translations of the original documents. There is a small additional fee for this service.

Certain legal procedures require a notarised translation. To notarise a translation, we attend the offices of a Notary Public, where we will swear before the Notary that the documents have been translated by a professionally qualified translator and that the translation is to the best of their knowledge accurate. The Notary will stamp and notarise each page. Notarised documents incur additional legal costs, which depend on the Notary’s fees. The process of notarisation is more formal than that required for certification and it is more expensive. Contact us for more details.
